Home Accessibility

Over the years we have encountered many challenges that other companies have walked away from.  We have learned to maximize the client’s space and convert areas of the home without making a negative impact on other parts.  By expanding a powder room to add a shower, we can ensure our client can now safely conduct all their bathroom routines on the main floor.  This space can be taken from closets, other rooms, or even garages.

We sit with our clients and review what they need, based not only on their current needs but also potential future needs.  For progressive conditions, we want to ensure the client spends the money ONLY ONCE.  Will a stairlift be a long-term solution or do we need to look at a lift or elevator?  Will a tub cutout be sufficient or do we need a full roll-in shower?  By actively listening to our clients, we can ensure they get what they need and what they want.  Our designers work with the client to select all fixtures and fittings, patterns and colors.  Their homes should look like their homes.

For our clients who wish to continue bathing, as opposed to showering, we can install a walk-in tub.  These tubs can include various options including heated seat, massage, hydrotherapy, lighting, Bluetooth speakers, and grab bars.  There are also various sizes for these tubs so we ensure we get the right fit.  Should the client not be able to do the step into the walk-in tub at a later point in time, there is room underneath to manoeuvre a floor patient lift or install a ceiling lift to assist with the transfers.

Kitchen modifications can increase our client’s independence by allowing them to cook for themselves, as well as accessing cabinets and sinks.  By installing our height-adjustable cabinets, countertops, sinks and kitchen islands, our clients can be truly independent with their nutritional needs at the push of a button.

Our ramping choices include pressure-treated wood, aluminum and concrete with or without epoxy coating.  All ramping can have bilateral bumper guards and railings.  Aluminum comes in several colors to suit the exterior of your home.  To ensure our clients have access to the exterior of their homes, we can also install automatic door operators that can be operated by remote or by an app on their smart phones.

Stairlifts can be installed on straight and curved stairs, both inside and outside the home.  Alternatively, lifts and elevators can also be chosen based on the clients’ needs.

True independence can be achieved with the correct tools!
